The Chitauri General, whose true name is unknown, is a prominent antagonist within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He serves as the field commander of the Chitauri army, a technologically advanced alien race serving Thanos. The General is a ruthless and highly effective military strategist.
His primary role is seen in the Battle of New York in The Avengers (2012). He commands the Chitauri forces deployed through a portal opened by the Tesseract, aiming to conquer Earth for Thanos.
